APRIL 4, 2022 (PITTSBURGH, PA) -- The Funhouse at Mr. Smalls in Millvale, PA will host an album release party for The Redlines, a rock & roll band from just North of Pittsburgh on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at 8:00pm. The album, “Kick Out Today”, a 4-song EP produced and recorded by Eddie Ashworth (whose credits include Sublime, Long Beach Dub Allstars, Great White, Frenzal Rhomb, Slightly Stoopid, Bargain Music, and Pennywise), is an exploration of garage rock subgenres that also touches on punk, soul, glam rock, and 50’s rock & roll.

“For this EP we purposely chose songs to work on that had a garage-rock vibe as a tribute to the bands before us that have inspired us so much along the way,“ said vocalist Brian Seese. “Our previous albums were essentially just collections of whatever songs that we had been playing live at the time.”

The band, consisting of Seese and Jason Lizzi on lead vocals and guitar, Tony Vinski on bass and Sandro Campagna on drums, spent multiple weekends throughout the fall of 2021 recording at Ashworth’s home studio, The Oxide Shed, in secluded woods just outside Athens, Ohio.

“Eddie created a creative and collaborative environment for us to realize our vision,“ said Vinski. “A lot of the time was spent experimenting with different ideas that either Eddie pitched to us or that we came up with on our own. And when we weren’t recording we were peppering Eddie with questions about his time recording our favorite bands.”

Mastered by the legendary Gene “The Machine” Grimaldi at Oasis Mastering (Sting, Lady Gaga, Rancid, The Interrupters), “Kick Out Today” will be released physically on CD by Pyschodaisy Records and digitally by Swade Records, record labels that are both based in Pittsburgh, PA. Eddie Ashworth also lends his talents on keyboards on two tracks including the lead single, “Runnin’ With the Pack”.

The album release party at The Funhouse at Mr. Smalls starts at 8pm with local bands Half Wheel and the Chet Vincent-fronted S.T.U.D. (Shop Till You Drop). Admission for this 21+ event is $10.00 at the door. Keyboardist Ray Ortiz will also join The Redlines for their set which includes playing the new EP in full.
